God does not often give Christians “long-range” guidance about their future. It is more often just about the next step to take. The psalmist said to God, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.” Psalm 119:105 God’s word was a “lamp” so he could see where he was walking, not a searchlight shining on his destination.
